100 Claremont Avenue

There are very few new development condos in Morningside Heights despite its proximity to Riverside Park and Columbia. For university staff or those looking for a high-end home that's slightly below the price points of the Upper West Side proper, Claremont Hall is a 165-unit project that is starting sales in June 2022.

Architect Robert AM. Stern, known for his classical limestone projects, designed the 41-story tower to fit with Columbia University's 180-year-old Union Theological Seminary (to which it is connected) and mimic the landmarked Riverside Church that it's near. The project is actually a mixed-use development with Columbia, consisting of classrooms, academic offices, and faculty-designated apartments. In addition to Hudson River views, amenities include an indoor pool, fitness center, a lounge with a terrace, a maker's room, and onsite parking.
